Europe At Its Finest!

Today Ruth and Steve took us to Melk where there is an ancient monastery (or montessori as Mom calls it).  From Melk we got on a boat and took a long ride down the Danube River.

We saw some interesting things on that boat ride...

We sat on the top deck and enjoyed the beautiful weather and terrific views (most of them anyway).

Mom and Dad and their most beloved

At one point during the boat ride we looked up and saw a giant castle in the distance on a steep hill. People climb to the very top (you can barely see them up there) and enjoy the view.  After grabbing lunch in the next town, we set off for the castle!

We were exhausted after the hike and took a long rest.

The view was well worth it!

We took family photos.

Dad got put in jail for harassing a local pilot for losing his luggage.
(Just kidding, his luggage arrived yesterday!)

After taking a boat ride back to Melk, most of us headed back home.  Mom, Dad, and Ruth stayed to tour the monastery.

We returned to the house absolutely exhausted after the long trip.
Check out Emilie's new satchel.
